A Infant Sperm Whale Was Rescued After Being Stranded On Some Rocks Close To San Diego

A infant sperm whale got stuck on some rocks near San Diego and was rescued Monday by the Sea World Animal Rescue group.

The baby whale was about 15 to 18 feet long and weighed about 1.5 tons.

The whale had rubbed itself on some rocks but was not impaired very critically.

The rescuers got to at the whale about 9:30 PM on Sunday and about Midnight took the newborn whale about half a mile out to sea and released it. The child whale swam away on it's own, which was a fantastic sign.

The volunteers was unable to determine the sex of the whale.

Congrats to Sea World for helping an animal in need. We need to view more noble acts like this more often.
